Happy Birthday Mrs Martel!

I've had a wonderful time learning with your children over the past six weeks. I'm going to miss their happy smiles, curious minds and funny stories. I'll be back to visit my grade one friends soon!

Look what just arrived from the North Pole...
Thank you Santa!

You'll find a reply letter from Santa in your child's mailbag this evening. Please note that a copy of their letter to Santa was sent home for you last Monday for your records.

Enjoy the magic of the season :)
Love, Miss S.

Classroom News and Important Updates

1. We're excited as our annual Christmas Concert is tomorrow evening! The students are asked to wear a Santa hat for the performance. Please meet me in Ms. Hodgins classroom room 175 at 5:10 pm (schedule is in your child's mailbag today and attached below).  After our performance, please meet your child on the exit side of the stage. Please let me know when you have picked up your child so that I am able to keep track of numbers.

2. A note and permission slip went home in your child's mailbag yesterday. We will be singing Christmas carols at the Granite Ridge Retirement Residence on Tues Dec. 15. Please sign and return the permission form by Fri Dec 11. Parents and guardians are welcome to join us (please indicate this on the slip) by meeting us there. We hope to see you there!

3. Please ensure all library books are returned this week. New library books will not be borrowed until the New Year.

4. The students have been participating in weekly Advent Liturgies on Monday mornings. It has been wonderful to see the many "gifts" written on with good deeds that have been filling our Advent tree. Keep them coming!

5. Food donations and Socks for the Ottawa Mission have been steadily coming in. Thank you for your generosity!

6. Please check our class twitter account @gr1mrsmartel for the latest classroom happenings!

We've been busy preparing our hearts for Advent by sharing our good deeds with one another. Our Advent tree is starting to fill up with the many gestures of kindness.

We hope you can join us tomorrow morning for our Advent Mass @ 10:15am in the Gymnasium.
