Lots of exciting things happening this week!

  • No Regular Homework this week
  • Library books are to be returned only
  • Tuesday, December 16th - Games Day! Students in our class are asked to bring a board game to school that they know how to play. Our goal is to use our “procedural words” (first, then, next, finally, etc) to teach our friends how to play.

Welcome to the Primary Blogging Community

We are so happy to have you here! We are a wonderful bunch of Grade Ones from Stittsville, Ontario which is just outside of Ottawa. Ottawa is the capital of Canada!

Our school is called St. Stephen and we have 2 other grade one classes in our school. Our school has Kindergarten to Grade Six.

Our favourite things to do are:

  • Use technology
  • Writing
  • Make Halloween Books
  • Use the Smart Board
  • Halloween Crafts
  • Learning Centers
  • Dreambox (computer game)
  • Recess
  • Playing in gym (we are learning about soccer)
  • Playing on our new playstructure
  • RAZ-Kids (computer game)
  • Puppets

We are wondering where our visitors live? And what is the weather like where you are? It keeps raining here! The temperature is in the middle (about 12 degrees). We can where a coat in the morning, but we usually don't need it in the afternoon.

Friday we have a PD Day so there is no school. And we are celebrating Thanksgiving on the weekend.

Looking For

We are planning out our next Learning Centers and we are hoping to start a "Drama/Dress Up" Center. If there are any families out there with dress up clothes that they do not need for Halloween we would love to borrow them at school. Please label them so we can return them at the end of the month (or whenever the center gets changed out).

Thanks for the help!

Oh Don't Forget! Picture Day is THURSDAY!

Amazing First Week

We finished a wonderful first week of Grade One with one of my favourite stories by Robert Munsch - Purple, Green and Yellow

We worked really hard on learning new routines and learning all the wonderful things about grade one. Some students have been asking about homework, but we will not start homework until after the Open House evening on September 18th. Hope to see you all there!
